Sayid's life is placed in grave danger after he stumbles upon the source of the mysterious French transmission, the woman Danielle Rousseau (guest-star Mira Furlan) who was on the distress call is found alive. Meanwhile, Hurley has a ridiculous plan to make life on the island a little more civilized - and it just might work that involves a gulf cource after he finds gulf clubs from the debris. Lastly, we flashback to Sayid's childhood friend Nadia as well as his participation in hostage situations in Iraq.

Lastly, Hurley is shocked and confused when he discovers that Ethan, another plane crash survivor, does not appear on the flight manifest.

Hurley has a flashback of a huge life-altering experience before coming on the plane. He wins the lottery, the number-one thing Americans dream about, but that it ends up being the worst thing that could have happened because the experience was cursed, specifically the numbers he plays with and where he got it from. It hurt everyone he loved--and that curse is tied to the island. Plus, Boone and Locke continue their work on the hatch.

Locke begins to suffer physical difficulties when it comes to walking as he and Boone try to find a way into the hatch. They go further into the island as Locke thinks he's being sent a sign on how to get the hatch open. Jack is reluctant to offer assistance when Sawyer begins to experience excruciating headaches and needs glasses. In this episode we learn how Locke was paralyzed due to his biological parents schemes, interrelating with the events around the hatch. Lastly, at the end of Locke confronting his troubled past and struggle to open the hatch Boone is seriously injured after an accident involving a plane that they found in the forest.

Lost - 120 - Do No Harm

Jack tends to a very wounded Boone after Locke returns him back to the caves after his body was nearly crushed in the plane fall when trying to contact the outside world. Sun helps Jack in his need for medical assistance and Sayid presents Shannon with a grand romantic surprise when they're alone. Claire unexpectedly goes into labor in the forest while a helpless Kate, Charlie and Jin go into panic mode by her side when Jack is unable to deliver the baby and they must tend to Claire themselves. Meanwhile, Locke mysteriously goes missing during all the chaos when returning Boone back to Jack. He disappears back into the forest.

Jack goes after Locke believing he had caused Boone's death. Meanwhile, Kate struggles to keep Jack from acting on his rage. Shannon also makes plans for her brother's alleged killer. Claire and Charlie attempt to calm her new baby and Sawyer proves to be the best thing for Claire's very unhappy baby. Sayid's past involves the CIA and a suicide bomber.

Jack suspects foul play when Michael becomes violently ill while building the raft. Suspects include Sawyer and Kate who compete for the last seat on the raft and do anything as possible to make sure neither one gets it. Meanwhile, a secret from Kate's past is revealed to the other survivors on the island---that she is a runaway fugitive. Also, the mysterious hatch is shown to Jack and sides with Locke over an opposed Sayid that they should open it. Walt gives Locke a warning in not opening the hatch. Walt also admits to his father Michael that he burned the raft the first time and changes his mind over not leaving the island once he realizes Lockes' plan over that hatch. Lastly, flashbacks of Kate's past reveal happier times with the "love of her life", Tom (guest-star Mackenzie Astin) prior to his death and a visit to her ill mother.

Meanwhile, Michael and Jin ready the raft for sailing. Danielle takes Jack, Locke, Kate, Hurley, and Arzt on a trek to the Black Rock. However, once they reach the "Dark Territory", Arzt (who had previously gone back to camp) came running with the real Beast hot on his heels.
